There she stood,
crimson dress,
brown eyes,
barefoot,
freckles dotting the night sky
like constellations.
My arm around her waist,
like the rings of Saturn,
we waltzed among the stars,
through nebulae and galaxies.
Her heart and mine,
beating in wonderful synchronicity,
our pulses lighting up the night sky
brighter than any meteor.
Her eyes held more magic
than Merlin could ever have hoped to possess,
and the gleam of the living room lights
made the stars envious of her shine.
How I long to hold her again in my arms
my little comet,
won’t you come back around,
and take me away again?
