I have heard it said
that in the end,
the silence of our friends
will far outweigh
the words of our enemies.
I hope that you can remember this
when surrounded
by people that claim to be your friend
but will stay silent
when this world
has wronged you.

Don’t we all see people with masks?
Sometimes that mask is never taken and the true face isn’t revealed ever.
This is amazing

When you wear a mask for too long, you forget who you are underneath. This leads to unimaginable pain.

Exactly. But they, The one with masks. Don’t really understand it until too late.

I have so many social friends and they speak relentlessly but I fear, as you say, that they will be very silent, when my need is loudest. On reflection, maybe it is best that they disappear as I would prefer they fall away to the distance when I will wish, in my most painful hours, for only the sincere, quiet but steadfast friends to remain.

Perhaps, my friend. Trials are the only way to discover who is there for us once the ice breaks.
