Causal Body

The one thing
that bothered me most about you
was your insistence
on living a paradoxical
existance;
you claimed you wanted to be happy,
yet
time after time
you allowed yourself
to be surrounded by the most
toxic
of people.
You  have said that it is time to change,
yet things stayed
exactly as they’ve always been.
You say you cannot believe
what they did to you,
but again
and again,
you do not stand up for yourself.
But I am here to tell you
that now
is that time.
Now is the time
to take control,
to be the person
you have always known
you should be.
Because if you fail to do this,
here
and now,
you have doomed yourself
to sit in the passenger seat
of your own life,
and I cannot imagine
a darker Hell
than this.
