Relent

I was asked once
how it is
that I write
the way I do.
The breaks
and spaces
of how I phrase
my ideas,
how I can convey
raw emotions
to such degree.
The answer
is really quite simple;

I am in love.

And when you are in love
you open yourself
to untold fields
of happiness and love
as well as immense fjords
of pain and anguish.
Love is too profound a concept
to be fully appreciated
by flawed creatures
such as ourselves,
and yet,
in spite of it all,
we try.
That is what is most important.
Not love,
but our will to love,
that counts.
And from that will,
do my words come forth,
like the soft, silken glow
of the moon above.
